Spectacular First Landing of an LTU Airbus A330 at Berlin´s Tempelhof Airport - new videos and galleries online
Saturday, September 8, saw the first ever landing of an Airbus A330 at Berlin´s Tempelhof Airport. The aircraft owned by Germany's second oldest airline LTU carried 285 passengers arriving from Dusseldorf on a flight organized by airevents for some hours of sightseeing, taking part in an extensive programme of sightseeing flights or looking behind the scenes of this historic airport.
The Airbus A330-200 is the biggest ever aircraft to ever have landed in Tempelhof on a commercial flight. The very professional and easy handling of the flights to and from Dusseldorf as well as a local sightseeing flight once more underlines Tempelhof´s performance level in times where its closure seems only a matter of months. In the afternoon, after operating a 1-hour sightseeing flight, the Airbus returned to Dusseldorf to then perform a regular flight to Palma de Mallorca.
The spectacular and powerful takeoff from runway 27L has probably brought tears to the eyes of the many aviation enthusiasts standing around the airport perimeter to watch.
